We have four (4) trails deep in the woods for retreatants to experience contemplative, reflective, quiet prayer on hikes and walks on our beautiful Hesychia property. There are many ways to pray, listen, and to Seek the Holy. Walking and praying eases the chatter of our minds and helps us to let go and make that big leap from our heads to our hearts and from our hearts to our bodies, which helps us to awaken to new perceptions, ideas, and thoughts. This in turn helps us to experience the presence of God through our senses, thereby opening us up to find God in all of creation and within ourselves.
We encourage retreatants to walk these trails quietly and to intentionally listen to the sounds of nature and God’s presence within. Walking these trails with such mindfulness to the presence of the Presence can lead all retreatants deeper into the heart of God and into their deepest selves.
Each hermitage/cabin has a map of the trails which one can take with them on the trails. We also encourage all retreatants to bring their journal, camera, plenty of water, cell phone, and bring and use tick spray. Although our land is posted for no hunting, please wear the orange vest provided in the hermitage/cabin when walking the trails. We hope you will experience God’s deep peace, strength, and healing when walking the trails.
